On the last Monday in May, Citizens of the United States of America dedicate time to visit cemeteries or memorials, hold family gatherings and participate in parades in honor of the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Military.

This National Day of Remembrance began May 30, 1968. It is not the only day as Americans we remember these men and women though it is a day we have dedicated to do so.

Memorial Day is also the unofficial start of the summer season and summer travel. So be safe on this day and the many days of summer to follow. Remember them. Remember your sunscreen, your road safety and your water buddy, among other things.

May God Bless our United States of America.
